File Formats For Logos And Final Versions Of Logos

Each logo will appear on many different things, such as:

LetterHead: I could use a joint photographic expert group (JPEG) for the letterhead which would allow me to compress the logo, however by doing this quality is lost. Windows Bitmap (BMP) could also be used as it supports a wide range of colours.

Home Page Of A Website: I could use a graphics Interchange Format (GIF) for the website because this will allow me to animate my logo to make it more interesting and rememberable for the audience.

Magazine: I could use a windows bitmap (BMP) which has a wide range of colours, this will give the logo texture and some depth to it.

Billboard: Photoshop vector file (EPS), I could use this vector file for billboards because it will allow me to blow up the logo without it pixelating. It wont pixelate because it uses mathematical equations to show the logo.

Merchandise: There will be many different types of merchandise, for the different pieces of merchandise different file formats will be needed. The different merchandise are:

T-Shirt, Mug, Stickers, Pencils: JPEG could be used for all of these which will be good quality, a BMP could be used because it has a high range of colours.
