Dave Ident

For this short film we were given a brief and told to follow it an make an Ident for the channel Dave.

WWW: We followed the brief and made the Ident look like a Dave Ident.

WWW: We made it look good by bringing in the right props and costumes, we decided to wear colourful clothes which stuck with the original Dave Idents.

WWW: The film looked good and we stuck to the timing of seconds, we also added in a title at the start of the film which told Dave the name of the Ident, we did this as Dave's idents all have names as well.

WWW: We used a range of shot types and camera movements which made it more effective.

EBI: If we had been better prepared and had a key to the location as we lost a bit of time walking around.

EBI: We had to cut some shots out which we filmed so it fit with the time, so if we had planned the timing of each shot better this may not of happened.

EBI: We had to change the story board a little as we drew a cake being passed around, but no one was told to bring in this cake therefore we used crisps instead.

EBI: When we were first going to film, it was near a road and it didn't seem like the place where a picnic would be held therefore we had to rethink the idea and moved locations.

I think planning and production both went well, i think we planned our Ident well using the sheets that we had, we storyboarded our film and clolured it in. By doing this planning we had knew what we needed to have for filming and we also knew what we were suppost to do. With out the planning we would been unprepared for the filming and wouldn't have made a successful Ident for Dave. The production side went just as well, we had all the stuff we needed to film and the only thing we didn't manage to get we improvised and used something else which worked well and looked good. Our film went so well because our planning was good, if based all the shots we did on the storyboard which made the filming a lot easier to do. And we knew what to do when acting because of our storyboard. This made life a lot easier for our group which means we could take our time to film and edit and not have to rush around trying to film in the last 30 mins.

I now know that planning for a film is the most important thing we could do and that the better your plan is the easier it will be to film. I also think that due to our plan we got all the shots we needed to have so no re shooting was needed by our group. I now know that when getting the location we need to use that she should try and make sure there is an exist at all times and that their is no chance of us getting locked out at all. Due to the fact we did get locked out we lost a bit of time which we could have used to edit, in this case we didn't need the time to edit but ijn the future we may need more time to edit if it is a long film/clip that we are filming.

We used lots of close ups in our Ident because in the Dave Idents they use a lot close ups as well. We used this shot because it tells the audience that we are at a picnic because you can see the grass the blanket and then the drink which someone is pouring out. Lots of shots like this tell the audience that we are at a picnic even though we don't show a long shot to show the setting.

We then used this shot to advertise the channel, we used a shot like this because it shows the channel like Dave it self does. We used a football traveling towards the bat so that the sign is just there like in the Dave Idents.
